'shoot today' day

much cheer for my first post on this forum

hugely inspired from a book done on china, 'photosynth' (youtube it), and our very own 24 hr assignment... i sort of figured out what might just be a 'first time in Indian history' thingi.

the idea is that we pick a particular day (collectively) and a timely relevant topic (say independence day for eg.) and each of us shoot in our respective cities documenting the chosen topic and we pool in all the shots and publish it or post it somewhere or if all goes well- a coffee table book!!! this might be slightly unique in terms of 'documentary technique' and the outcome might be quite radical. we wont only get images from diff. places but also diff photographers...

Adi and myself were talking the other day and we realized that we don't know diddly-squat about copyrighting. We figure, since you guys are working with AOL you might be able to shed some light on how that works both internationally and whatever you know about the home markets. The lowdown on managing rights, if we have to patent images and how to go about it, and all that jazz.

I know im the only one posting on this thing and many of you are laughing your asses off - so stop and get typing - i am serious - start by posting your websites or links to any photos that you have uploaded - or even just your portfolio - if you don't have it uploaded online, send it to me, ill be happy to host your portfolio on my server temporarily.
